At the invitation of the Organising Chairman of the Australia-ASEAN Business Forum, Francis Wong OAM, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, will undertake a visit to Adelaide, Australia, on 24 to 28 August 2025, to participate in the Australia-ASEAN Business Forum 2025, where he will deliver a keynote speech at the Official Opening of the Forum.
During the course of his visit, Dr. Kao is scheduled to meet with key stakeholders, including the Hon Peter Malinauskas MP, Premier of South Australia, the Rt Hon Jane Lomax-Smith, Lord Mayor of Adelaide, the Hon Joe Szakacs MP, Minister for Trade and Investment of South Australia, as well as with ASEAN Committee in Canberra. Furthermore, Dr. Kao will also engage with representatives from the Business Council of Australia, the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the ASEAN-Australia Centre. To convey ASEAN narratives, Dr. Kao will give a lecture on “Deepening Relations as Comprehensive Strategic Partners: ASEAN and Australia,” at the University of Adelaide.
Dr. Kao’s visit to Australia this time aims at enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between ASEAN and Australia, providing a platform to strengthen trade and investment and exploring new avenues for cooperation and collaboration with a view to promoting sustainable and inclusive growth in the region.
