The 33rd ASEAN-New Zealand Dialogue convened today in Christchurch, New Zealand. The Dialogue provided an opportunity for both sides to review progress of ASEAN-New Zealand cooperation and discuss its future direction, building on the momentum of the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-New Zealand Dialogue Relations and the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) in 2025. ASEAN and New Zealand reaffirmed shared commitment to advancing cooperation under the CSP, including through the implementation of the new Plan of Action (POA) for the period 2026–2030.
The Dialogue was co-chaired by H.E. Dang Hoang Giang, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam and ASEAN SOM Leader of Viet Nam, and H.E. Grahame Morton, Deputy Secretary of the Americas and Asia Group of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand and SOM Leader of New Zealand, and attended by Senior Officials of ASEAN Member States or their representatives and the Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Political-Security Community.
