CEBU CITY — Cebu officials declared the successful hosting of the 48th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit and Related Meetings as a major milestone for the province, citing zero major security incidents, strong inter-agency coordination and improved prospects for international conferences and investment-driven events.
Cebu Gov. Pamela Baricuatro, who chaired the Provincial Organizing Committee, credited the outcome to the combined efforts of national agencies, local government units, private partners, workers, volunteers, and the Cebuano public who supported the summit held in Mactan last week.
She expressed gratitude during a post-summit press briefing on Wednesday, highlighting the role of collective effort in the event’s success.
