TAIPEI, Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — “BUSAN VIBE: WAVE,” an international design exchange exhibition highlighting Busan’s vision for World Design Capital Busan 2028, is on view at Gallery 02 of the Taiwan Design Museum through November 8, 2026.
Organized by Busan Metropolitan City and Design Council Busan, co-organized by the Industrial Development Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs (IDA, MOEA), and supported by the Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI), the exhibition introduces Busan through its design, culture, industries, public spaces, and everyday life.
Inspired by Busan’s maritime identity, the exhibition uses waves as a metaphor for the people, ideas, industries, and actions that converge to drive urban change. Reflecting the World Design Capital Busan 2028 theme, “Inclusive City, Engaged Design,” it explores how design can connect people and places while involving citizens in shaping their city.
The Design With Citizens section presents projects in which residents identify everyday needs and urban challenges, contributing their experiences and perspectives to improvements in public spaces and services.
Design From Busan features city-brand merchandise and design content connected to local culture, food, lifestyles, resources, industries, businesses, and designers, demonstrating how design is embedded throughout the city.
The exhibition also includes video content featuring actor and singer Lee Junho, ambassador for World Design Capital Busan 2028, and Boogi, Busan’s communication character. Visitors can join the city’s design wave at the interactive “Be Part of The Wave” photo zone.
Taipei was designated World Design Capital in 2016, and Busan will hold the title in 2028. Presented in Taipei, the exhibition encourages dialogue between two Asian cities with distinct cultures and urban experiences, showing how design can enrich everyday life and support ongoing urban transformation.
“BUSAN VIBE: WAVE” runs through November 8, 2026, at the Taiwan Design Museum in Taipei.
