HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Students and families at the International School Ho Chi Minh City (ISHCMC) are now using a series of new and upgraded spaces across the school’s Primary and Secondary campuses. The enhancements build on ISHCMC’s 33-year commitment to creating environments where students can thrive, while improving the everyday experience of learning, arriving, connecting, creating and taking part in school life.
The completed enhancements include a redesigned Primary entrance and drop-off experience, new covered waiting areas, updated Kindergarten and Grade 3 learning environments, a new Primary Fab Lab, a covered Secondary basketball court, enhancements to the Wellness Centre and upgraded classroom technology.
At the Primary Campus, changes begin with the daily arrival. The redesigned entrance and drop-off area support smoother movement, increased bus capacity and stronger pedestrian safety. Covered waiting areas and improved pathways give students and families more comfortable spaces at the beginning and end of the school day. The new Community Café creates another place for parents, students and staff to meet and connect, strengthening everyday relationships across the wider ISHCMC community.
Inside the Primary Campus, updated Kindergarten and Grade 3 environments have been designed using Universal Design for Learning principles. Different areas support collaboration, focused instruction, independent exploration and hands-on inquiry. Mobile furniture and accessible resources allow teachers and students to adapt the spaces throughout the day, while natural materials and calming tones support focus and wellbeing.
The new Primary Fab Lab gives students more room to design, build, test and refine ideas. With opportunities across robotics, construction and project-based learning, the space connects creativity with practical problem-solving, helping students build the curiosity, confidence and skills to discover what they are capable of and shape what comes next.
At the Secondary Campus, the covered basketball court is already being used for tournaments, physical education and school activities. Enhancements to the Wellness Centre strengthen spaces dedicated to student care and wellbeing. Classroom upgrades, including screens, sound systems, interactive whiteboards and additional learning resources, are designed to make teaching and learning more accessible and engaging.
The next planned enhancement is a Secondary outdoor gym, extending the school’s continued investment in spaces that support student wellbeing, movement and participation.
