SEOUL, South Korea, Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Fromgolfandwellnesstoculture, creativity and marine exploration, Indonesia is inviting South Korean travellers to discover more personal and meaningful ways to experience the country.
For South Korean travellers, discovering Indonesia is increasingly about more than choosing where to go. It is also about finding experiences that reflect how they want to travel, whether through recreation, wellness, culture, creativity or the sea. Through its Quality Tourism approach, Indonesia is inviting travellers to experience the country in ways that feel more diverse, personal and meaningful.
The Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia is advancing Quality Tourism by placing the quality of the travel experience at the heart of tourism development. The strategy encompasses a range of niche experiences, including marine tourism, gastronomy, wellness, luxury, golf and the arts. It aims to attract affluent travellers, encourage longer stays and generate greater economic value for destinations and local communities.
Through “Go Beyond Ordinary,” six destinations, Bali, Lombok, Jakarta, Central Java, Manado and Labuan Bajo, showcase different sides of Indonesia, demonstrate how one journey through the country can take many forms, from recreation and wellness to culture, creativity and marine exploration – offer South Korean travellers a range of experiences to explore.
Bali brings together recreation, nature, culture and wellness. Golf experiences set against tropical landscapes can be combined with gastronomy, wellness retreats and cultural exploration, creating opportunities to balance relaxation with recreation and discovery.
For those looking for a quieter pace, Lombok offers a more tranquil setting through its beaches, natural landscapes and marine experiences.
In Jakarta, art and creativity offer an entry point into contemporary Indonesia. Galleries, exhibitions, creative spaces and performances are complemented by the capital’s gastronomy, shopping and dynamic urban lifestyle.
In Central Java, the journey moves closer to Indonesia’s history, culture and living traditions. Historic sites, traditional arts, craftsmanship, local cuisine and community experiences offer a closer look at the cultural heritage that has been passed down through generations.
For marine enthusiasts, Manado offers rich underwater ecosystems and biodiversity, making it an ideal destination for diving and snorkelling. The destination is also increasingly accessible to South Korean travellers through direct flights.
Meanwhile, Labuan Bajo combines dramatic island landscapes with distinctive marine experiences. Pink Beach is among its natural highlights, where its signature pink sand meets clear tropical waters.
Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, said, “Quality Tourism is about creating greater value through the way people experience Indonesia. Through Go Beyond Ordinary, we want South Korean travellers to discover more of the country in ways that reflect their interests, while experiencing the culture, nature and character that make each destination distinct.”
To help travellers plan journeys around their interests, the Ministry of Tourism has also introduced MaiA (Meticulous Artificial Intelligence of Indonesia), an AI-powered travel assistant developed as part of the Tourism 5.0 programme, accessible at indonesia.travel.
Go Beyond Ordinary, and discover Indonesia your way.
