Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, on 5 October 2026, attended the opening ceremony of the 25th General Assembly of VECONAC at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The ceremony featured keynote address by His Excellency Senior Minister General Kun Kim, Vice- President and Secretary-General of the Cambodian Veterans and Pensioners Association, and Rotating President of VECONAC, and featured High Keynote Address by SAMDECH MOHA BORVOR THIPADEI HUN MANET, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and First Vice- President of the Cambodian Veterans and Pensioners Association.
The General Assembly brought together veterans’ associations from ASEAN Member States to exchange views on efforts to improve the welfare of veterans, persons with disabilities, and families of fallen soldiers, and to reaffirm the shared commitment to peace and community-building in the region.
