Driving a Hyundai Elantra N TCR for Plotio Racing Team, Bayern Yip won the Guest Star Trophy in Race 3 as the top-placed non-factory driver in that race. The achievement adds another highlight to the team’s 2026 racing campaign.
Building on this momentum, Plotio Racing Team will compete in the 73rd Macau Grand Prix from 19 to 22 November. The team will give its all on the Guia Circuit, widely regarded as one of the world’s most challenging street circuits, determined to bring the season to a perfect close.
Strong Factory-Team Competition as Bayern Yip Tops the Non-Factory Field
The TCR World Tour is the premier series within the TCR racing platform. Its 2026 season features eight rounds across Europe and Asia. The sixth round in Chengdu consisted of three races at Chengdu Tianfu International Circuit, a 3.26-kilometre track featuring 19 corners and several heavy braking zones, which tested drivers’ braking control and precision in their racing lines.
The Chengdu round featured a strong field, with three leading factory teams, Geely Cyan Racing, BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse and SP Compétition, fielding their main drivers. The grid also featured two-time TCR World Tour champion Norbert Michelisz and former WTCC champion Thed Björk.
Representing Plotio Racing Team, Bayern Yip delivered a strong drive in Race 3, finishing ninth behind only the eight factory-entered cars. As the first non-factory driver to cross the line, he claimed his first Guest Star Trophy.
Consistent Regional Form Ahead of Macau
Bayern Yip has also competed in regional events this season, delivering consistent results in preparation for the Macau Grand Prix.
Other Plotio Racing Team drivers, Damon Chan, Benny Wong, Vincent Yip and Eddie Cheung, have also delivered strong performances this season, achieving excellent results in regional events. The team now heads to the Macau Grand Prix as another milestone in its season.
Targeting the Guia Circuit for the Season’s Final Challenge
The 73rd Macau Grand Prix will be held at Macau’s Guia Circuit from 19 to 22 November, with the TCR World Tour also staging the final round of its season during the event. Plotio Racing Team drivers will compete in races held during the event, striving to maintain their strong momentum and achieve further success at the Guia Circuit.
