The 30th ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Retreat convenes in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR

The Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, attended the 30th ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Retreat (AEM Retreat), which was held today in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR. The AEM Retreat was chaired by the Minister of Industry and Commerce, H.E. Malaithong Kommasith of the Lao PDR. The Meeting expressed its support for the ASEAN’s economic priorities under Lao PDR’s Chairmanship theme, “ASEAN: Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience.” The Meeting exchanged views on the regional and global economic outlook, the possible key economic priorities for the development of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Strategic Plan(s) which will be the integral part of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, the ongoing major economic initiatives under the AEC as well as ASEAN’s external economic relations.
