Joint Ministerial Statement on the 16th ATM+ROK

The Sixteenth ASEAN and ROK Transport Ministers Meeting (16th ATM+ROK) was held on 20 November 2025. The Meeting was co-chaired by H.E. Mr. Mya Tun Oo, Union Minister of Transport and Communications of Myanmar, and H.E. Mr. Kim Yong-Seog, Commissioner, Metropolitan Transport Commission, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea. The Meeting was preceded by the Seventeenth ASEAN and ROK Senior Transport Officials Meeting (17th STOM+ROK) held on 19 November 2025.
The Meeting welcomed the successful convening of the 15th ASEAN-ROK Transport Cooperation Forum, held on 8 July 2025 in Seoul, ROK, under the theme “Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered Solutions for Smarter and Safer Mobility in ASEAN”, which provided a valuable platform and opportunity for smart mobility initiatives and the application of AI in the transport sector, reaffirming the importance of continued collaboration in leveraging innovation and technology to advance regional transport integration and strengthen capacity building across ASEAN.
