ASEAN, Türkiye Renew Commitment to Advancing Sectoral Dialogue and Practical Cooperation

JAKARTA, 24 November 2025 – At the 7th ASEAN-Türkiye Joint Sectoral Cooperation Committee (AT-JSCC) Meeting, held at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat, both sides renewed their commitment to strengthening their Sectoral Dialogue Partnership by undertaking more practical cooperation activities.

Officials from ASEAN and Türkiye reviewed the progress in implementing the ASEAN-Türkiye Practical Cooperation Areas (PCA) 2024-2028, which serves as a roadmap to pursuing practical cooperation. Currently, ASEAN and Türkiye are implementing cooperation in areas such as combating transnational crime, humanitarian mine action, trade and investment, tourism, food and agriculture, education and youth, and human resources development.

The Meeting exchanged views on the future direction of the Sectoral Dialogue Partnership and explored opportunities to broaden cooperation in areas such as cybersecurity, digital integration, green economy, public health, supply chain resilience, smart agriculture, disaster management, and women’s empowerment.

During the Meeting, ASEAN encouraged Türkiye to support ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future while actively undertaking practical cooperation with ASEAN across the four identified key areas of cooperation of the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP). ASEAN also called for Türkiye’s support for the newly adopted ASEAN Connectivity Strategic Plan and the Initiative of ASEAN Integration (IAI) Work Plan V (2026-2030), as well as encouraged collaboration with ASEAN’s centres of excellence. In parallel, Türkiye reaffirmed its commitment to further strengthening its partnership with ASEAN and ASEAN Member States.

The 7th AT-JSCC Meeting was co-chaired by the Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Community and Corporate Affairs, Nararya S. Soeprapto, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to ASEAN, Professor Dr. Talip Küçükcan, and attended by Members of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN or their representatives, along with their respective delegations. The ASEAN Member States expressed appreciation to Türkiye’s photo exhibition of activities implemented by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) supporting development cooperation projects for the ASEAN community, held in conjunction with the Meeting.
