Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community receives the Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN for a courtesy meeting

H.E. San Lwin, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC), received H.E. Mr. Yonetani Koji, Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN, at the ASEAN Secretariat on 15 January 2026 for a courtesy call. The meeting served as an introductory engagement for the new Ambassador and provided an opportunity to reaffirm Japan’s longstanding partnership with ASEAN, including cooperation under the Japan–ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF). Discussions focused on ongoing and potential collaboration in areas such as public health, disaster management, and cultural exchange, with a view to strengthening future cooperation.
