At the invitation of H.E. Kitte Sangahak Bandith Kun Kim, Senior Minister in Charge of Special Missions, First Vice President of the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM) of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Chair of ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management (AMMDM) 2025, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, will lead the ASEAN Secretariat delegation to participate in the 13th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management (AMMDM) and 14th Meeting of the Conference of Parties (COP) to the ASEAN Agreement on Disaster Management and Emergency Response (AADMER) and related meetings, to be held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on 14-16 October 2025. These meetings will bring together Ministers-in-Charge of Disaster Management from ASEAN Member States, Timor-Leste, and AMMDM Plus partners to deliberate on progress and chart ways forward in strengthening disaster resilience in the region as well as to commemorate the 20 years of AADMER. During the series of meetings, Dr. Kao will deliver remarks at the Welcome Ceremony and Opening Ceremony of the 13th AMMDM and 14th Meeting of COP to AADMER and related meetings. The Opening Ceremony will be graced by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Dr. Kao will also take the opportunity to engage in bilateral meetings with Ministers-in-Charge of Disaster Management from ASEAN Member States, Timor-Leste, and AMMDM Plus partners, to exchange views on ways and means to strengthen regional and global cooperation in building a disaster-resilient ASEAN.
