Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today witnessed the signing of the ASEAN-New Zealand Air Services Agreement (ANZ-ASA) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on the margins of the ASEAN-New Zealand Commemorative Summit, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The signing comes at an important juncture as ASEAN and New Zealand celebrate 50 years of their dialogue relations, and right after the establishment of ASEAN-New Zealand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Â This landmark agreement establishes a modern and forward-looking framework that strengthens air connectivity, facilitates greater trade, tourism, and investment, and brings peoples and businesses across both regions closer together.
In his capacity as Depositary, SG Dr. Kao formally accepted the signed instrument, underscoring ASEAN’s collective commitment to advancing connectivity and strengthening strategic partnership with its Dialogue Partner.
