The 27th ASEAN Directors-General of Immigration Departments and Heads of Consular Affairs Divisions of Ministries of Foreign Affairs Meeting (DGICM) and Its Related Meetings, which included the DGICM Consultations with Australia and the Plus Three countries were held in Nha Trang, Viet Nam on 14-15 August 2024. The Meetings were attended by the DGICM Leaders of all ASEAN Member States, Dialogue Partners and the Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Political-Security Community. Timor-Leste attended as Observer. The Meetings were preceded by the DGICM working group meetings held on 13 August 2024, namely the 7th ASEAN Heads of Major Immigration Checkpoints Forum (AMICF), 3rd Heads of Specialist Unit (HSU) on People Smuggling and the 19th ASEAN Immigration Intelligence Forum (AIIF). Recent trends, best practices and potential cooperation in the areas of border management, immigration and consular matters were discussed at the Meetings.
