Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, on 9 April 2026 delivered pre-recorded remarks at the Amity Circle Retreat IV held in Ha Noi, Vietnam. In his remarks, Dr. Kao highlighted ASEAN’s progress since 2025, including the adoption of ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future, Timor-Leste’s accession as the 11th Member of ASEAN, as well as advancing regional economic integration and digital transformation. Amidst evolving global and regional challenges, Dr. Kao reaffirmed ASEAN’s commitment to strengthening its unity, resilience, and its role as a driving force in the regional architecture.
