Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today met with the Deputy Minister of International Trade of Canada, H.E. Glenn Purves, on the sidelines of the 32nd APEC Ministers Responsible for Trade (MRT) Meeting, in Suzhou, China. Both sides discussed the ASEAN-Canada economic agenda and were encouraged to work towards a timely and meaningful conclusion of the ASEAN-Canada Free Trade Agreement (ACAFTA) negotiations this year. Dr. Kao also welcomed Canada’s continued support for the ASEAN-OECD Programme and expressed ASEAN’s readiness to further strengthen cooperation in areas of shared priorities, including sustainable trade, digital economy, and resilient supply chains.
