Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today participated in the ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with the United Kingdom (UK), in Manila, the Philippines. The Meeting reaffirmed commitment to continue a mutually-beneficial and meaningful partnership as ASEAN and the UK commemorated the fifth anniversary of their Dialogue Partnership. The Meeting adopted the ASEAN-UK Plan of Action (2027–2031) and the ASEAN-UK Joint Ministerial Statement on Cooperation on the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific: Advancing Together. The Ministers also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The Meeting was attended by the ASEAN Foreign Ministers or their representatives, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, The Rt Hon Ed Miliband, MP, and Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn.
