Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, this evening was presented with the 9th ASEAN Energy Outlook (AEO9), the ASEAN Centre for Energy’s (ACE) latest report, by the Executive Director of ACE Dato’ Ir. Ts. Razib Dawood, on the sidelines of the 44th AMEM in Manila, Philippines.
The AEO9 estimated that by 2060, ASEAN’s energy demand could grow to around 4 times the current levels. Stronger regional cooperation, electrification, interconnection, and faster renewable deployment are key, with the most ambitious transition pathway requiring around USD 405 billion in annual investment.
