JAKARTA, 31 July 2024 – The 15th issue of the ASEAN Economic Integration Brief (AEIB) was released today.
This issue presents a special article by Malaithong Kommasith, Lao PDR’s Minister of Industry and Commerce and the Chairperson of the ASEAN Economic Ministers 2024. Amongst others, the article highlights key progress and achievements of the ASEAN Economic Community this year, as well as Lao PDR’s vision towards an AEC that is inclusive, innovative, and sustainable.
Furthermore, Oudet Souvannavong, President of Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chair of ASEAN Business Advisory Council, shared his views on ASEAN’s potential as the next supply chain powerhouse given the region’s strategic location, diverse resources, and growing economy.
In addition, this issue of the AEIB also provides as an overview of the regional economic outlook, latest updates on the AEC, as well as latest key economic indicators relevant to the region.
