JAKARTA, 6 December 2024 – Today, Ambassador Abdulmonem Annan presented his Letter of Credence as the first Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to ASEAN to Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat.
Secretary-General Dr. Kao congratulated Ambassador Annan on his assumption of office and expressed to work closely in promoting ASEAN and Syria relations. Secretary-General Dr. Kao also encouraged Syria to work with ASEAN in exploring possible cooperation in areas of mutual benefits and interests, including in trade and investment.
Ambassador Annan expressed his readiness to work closely with ASEAN to strengthen Syria’s relations with ASEAN and ASEAN Member States.
