DEFENSE Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to strengthening defense cooperation with South Korea and Singapore during separate bilateral meetings on May 30 on the sidelines of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Shangri-La Dialogue (SLD).
In his meeting with South Korean Minister Ahn Gyuback, Teodoro expressed appreciation for the country’s continued support for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) modernization program and the sustained cooperation in enhancing defense capabilities.
Teodoro highlighted the two nations’ enduring historical ties forged during the Korean War, emphasizing the importance of preserving the legacy of Filipino soldiers who fought alongside Korean forces.
