Indonesia court hands tech icon 10 years in jail for graft

JAKARTA — An Indonesian court on Tuesday sentenced Nadiem Makarim, a former education minister and the co-founder of a multibillion-dollar tech startup, to 10 years in prison for corruption.

Judges found Nadiem guilty of graft tied to the procurement of Chromebooks for schools during the Covid-19 pandemic, resulting in around $120 million in state losses.
